CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word for Saturday November, 11 is Eilish Griffin, and for Sunday November, 12 is Liam Walsh. Ministers of the Eucharist are Anne McMahon and Mairead Lynch for Saturday. Nora Murphy and Ita O'Shaughnessy for Sunday. As is tradition in Kilcornan on Thursday evening last November 2, Fr Kelleher celebrated Mass in remembrance of those in our Community who have gone to their eternal reward during the past year and a candle lit in their memory which was placed on the Alter. Those remembered were, Dan Sheahan, Betty Sheahan, May Keogh, Margaret Byrnes, Mary Loftus, Robert Anthony Meade, Anne Shanahan, Paddy O'Connor, Eileen Foley, Maurice Hough, P.J. Lucey and John Joe Morrison. Our thanks to Fr Kelleher and our Parish Clerk Mrs. Doab for organizing a memorable occasion for the bereaved families.

TIDY TOWNS ACTION GROUP: We are holding a Winter Cleanup on this coming Saturday November, 11 in Kilcornan. We will meet at the Community Centre at 10.30 we will concentrate on collecting litter on the N69 in our Tidy Towns area. We would also appreciate if residents, as usual, collected litter in their own areas. Any bags that are collected can be dropped to the Community Centre. Limerick City and County Council to collect them from there. We would appreciate as many as possible to help with the cleanup so if you are available, please come down even if your time is limited and wear a hi-vis jacket.

LIMERICK HISTORICAL SOCIETY: Limerick Historical Society will host a lecture by Pat O’Brien, of the Celtic Bookshop, on 'The Arthur family of Arthur’s Quay and beyond', on Monday November 13th at 8 p.m. in Room 203, Mary Immaculate College. Everybody is welcome. Ask at reception for directions.

NCW ENTERPRISE: Newcastle West Enterprise Town takes place on Friday November 17 from 6.00pm – 9.00pm in Desmond College, Station Road, Newcastle West. All businesses, community groups, schools, charities, sports clubs etc in Newcastle West and its surrounding area are invited to take a stand at the Expo which will be complemented with a visit from a high profile guest and lots of wonderful entertainment. It is free to come along as a visitor and also to take part as an exhibitor. Registration forms are available from Bank of Ireland, The Square, Newcastle West or email The purpose of the event is to showcase the range of organisations operating in the area in order to raise their profile.

ADULT ENGLISH CONVERSATION CLUB. West Limerick Resources will run a 10 week English Conversation Club for Adults at the Newcastle West Community Centre on Wednesday evenings from 7pm-8:30pm. The Club will run for 5 weeks before Christmas (November 8, 15, 22, 29 and December 6) and will continue for five weeks in 2018 (January 10, 17, 24, 31 & February 7).
