CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word for Saturday August, 26 is Katie Shiels and for Sunday August, 27 is Catherine Browne. Ministers of the Eucharist are Kathleen Hayes and Mary O'Neill for Saturday. Ita O'Shaughnessy and Kathleen Holland. for Sunday.

SALE OF WORK: A Sale of Work, Cake Sale will be held in the Community Centre, Kilcornan, on Sunday next August 27 immediately after 11.30 am Mass. This fundraiser has been held annually for several years now by Tony and Bernadette Hackett. The entire proceeds will be used to feed the poor families, especially children, in an area in South Africa at Christmas time. Please bring your baking, jams, marmalades etc. to the Community Centre on Sunday morning. Your usual kind support for this most worthy charity is very much appreciated.

FREE COMPUTER AND INTERNET TRAINING: Free Digital Skills for Citizens computer and internet training at Foynes library. The course is aimed at beginners and fledgling users, and covers internet security, email, search engines, accessing government services, shopping and banking, voice and video calls, and more. The course is completely free for all participants - a copy of your Eircode (postcode) is required to signup. The training runs for five weeks each Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm. OUTING TO SLIGO AND ENNISKILLEN: Anyone you interested in a 4 day trip to Sligo and Enniskillen (in conjunction with Thomond Archaelogical and Historical Society) departing Newcastle West from September 11 to 14. The 4 day trip will take in Temple House castle and country house, the famous Carrowmore Passage tomb, Sligo Abbey, Sligo Museum, the Niland art collection, Yeats Memorial Building, a special reception by the Mayor of Sligo at County buildings, Creevekeel Court tomb, Lissadell House, Alpine Gardens, Drumcliff Yeats Grave, Museum and High Crosses, Lough Gill, Creevelea Franciscan Abbey, Parkes Castle, Glenfarne, Castlecoole National Trust House Enniskilleen, Skreen, Sophie Cooper 1822 monument, Boyle Cistercian Abbey, King House Boyle, Tulsk Visitor Centre and Rathcroghan Iron Age complex. The 4 day trip includes bed/breakfast and dinner in the 4 star Sligo Park Hotel and will have qualified historian tour guides. Entry fees are all included also for a total cost of €310.
