LOTTO: Results for Saturday April, 29 Jackpot was won. Congratulations to Caroline O'Keeffe, Kilcornan, who won our local Lotto last Saturday evening. Caroline is an ardent supporter of our Lotto and she said the secret in winning was to buy a ticket.
CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word for Saturday May, 6 is Edel O'Connell and for Sunday May, 7 is John O'Gorman. Ministers of the Eucharist are Ann O'Brien and Anne McMahon for Saturday. Kathleen Holland and Josephine Horan for Sunday.
SCHOOL FUNDRAISER: Kilcornan National School Fundraiser, Neven Maguire is coming to Dunraven Arms, Adare in aid of Kilcornan National School in order to raise much needed funds for development of a school library. The evening kicks off at 7.00pm with a Dingle Gin & Vodka reception with local and national food producers showcasing on the night. Neven will also be around to meet as many of the attendees as possible. The Cookery Demonstration starts at 8.00pm. As part of the event, two people will get the chance to sample everything Neven has cooked throughout the evening. Spot prizes on the night include a night away for two in McNeam House with an evening meal and a delicious breakfast the following morning. All funds raised on the night will go towards funding a new library for Kilcornan National School. With this money, they are hoping to turn the existing staff room into a library/resource room where children of all abilities can enjoy this space to learn and develop. WALK INTO NATURE: Joe and Caroline Rigney have organised the second annual Walk Into Nature on Saturday next May, 6 at 4 30 am. This will coincide with Darkness into light. The walk takes from Rigney's gate into Curraghchase forest on one side, and out the other side, taking in the dawn chorus on the way. There will be refreshments on return to the house. We will have a €10 each collection which will be distributed to Community Crisis Response Team and Shannon estuary mud search and rescue. If anyone is would like take part be at Rigney's at 4 15 am TIDY TOWNS: There will be a meeting of the tidy towns group to organize a clean up on Wednesday at 6.30.
SALESIAN COLLEGE: Salesian Secondary College are hosting a 5km run on Thursday, May, 11 at 10am. All pupils from all years are taking part in the event. Pupils have been following a Couch to 5k programme in physical education (PE) classes for the past 8 weeks. They have also completed part of their training programme outside of school. The run will take place around Pallaskenry and is being organised and run by our transition year students in conjunction with the PE Department.
