LOTTO: The result of the Kilcornan Lotto for Saturday November 5. The Jackpot was not won. Lucky dips drawn were,Lynn Nolan, Tony McDonagh, Paul Sheehy and Lorraine Lynch. Next week's jackpot will be €5950.00
CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word for Saturday November 12 is Catherine Browne and for Sunday November 13 is Liam Walsh. Ministers of the Eucharist are Anne McMahon and Mairead Lynch for Saturday. Nora Murphy and Eilish Griffin for Sunday.
CEMETERY PRAYERS: Prayers led by Fr. Kelleher were said at both Cemeteries last Sunday. The weather being very kind a large congregation was present.
MASS: A very large crowd was present for Mass for members of our community and their relatives who have gone to their eternal reward during the past year which was celebrated last week. Thanks to Our Parish Clerk Mrs. Doab who organized it in her usual efficient manner.
WEDDING: Congratulations to Ronan Hanley, Dromlohan, Kilcornan, son of Liam and Joan, and to Kathryn Lennon on their wedding last Friday, which took place in Kathryn's home town, Claregalway. Fr Ian O'Neill performed the ceremony in the Church of the Assumption and St. James. Bridesmaids were Sarah Lennon and Sarah Cunningham and Ronan's wing men were Paul McElligott and John O'Gorman. The happy couple accompanied by families, friends and neighbours were treated to a wonderful meal and celebrated in the Salthill Hotel till late. We wish them both every blessing and happiness in their new house in Blossomhill. The couple will relax and enjoy their honeymoon in the bright lights of Vegas and in the sunshine of Cancún in Mexico.
CONFERRED: Congratulations to Kate O'Hara, daughter of Denis and Shelia, Tubbermurry, who was conferred with her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Dublin Institute of Technology. at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Saturday last. Kate is a past pupil of Kilcornan National school.
STRICTLY COME DANCING: The Strictly Come Dancing dance troupe are in camp with their choreographers preparing for the big night in the Southcourt Hotel on November 26. MAIGUE FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB: The Maigue Flower and Garden Club will hold its Christmas Gala, flower arranging Demonstration on Sunday November 27 in Rathkeale House Hotel at 3pm. The demonstrator will be Sandra Jackson, Floral Artist from Cork. Admission is €10 and there will be a raffle on the door ticket. We look forward to meeting you all.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The next lecture of the Winter season will be given by Lorna Moloney, well known family history expert, on Monday November 14. The lecture is entitled 'Clans and Surnames of Limerick'. The lecture will commence at 8 p.m. in Room 203, Mary Immaculate College. Go to main reception and you will receive directions. Admission is free and everybody is welcome.
