Kilcornan Notes August 22

LOTTO: The result of the Kilcornan Lotto for Saturday August 20. The Jackpot was not won. Lucky dips drawn were, Stephen Downey, Pat O'Connell, Ann Bourke and Rachel Cregan. Next week the Jackpot will be €5,450.00.

CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word for Saturday August 27 is Margaret O'Leary and for Sunday August 28 is Ita O'Shaughnessy. Ministers of the Eucharist are Margaret O'Leary and Mary O'Neill for Saturday. Ita O'Shaughnessy and Nora Murphy for Sunday.

PHONE CONNECT SEEKS PARTICIPANTS: The Phone Connect Project is a free community based telephone support service offered to older people in the West Limerick Area empowering them to remain independent in their own homes.The weekly service provides a listening ear to the elderly allowing them to share any worries or concerns and to be informed of any local events or services. West Limerick Resources are now seeking participants, particularly those experiencing isolation, who would like to receive a weekly phone call. If you would be interested in receiving or require more information we would be delighted to hear from you by calling Damien at West Limerick Resources on 087 9042477 or Stefanie on 087 3290483. This initiative is being run in association with the Rural Community Care Network (RCCN).

HERITAGE WEEK EVENT: As part of Heritage Week 2016, the West Limerick Heritage Network will present No Guns, No Revolution, at Foynes Yacht Club, 7.30pm on Thursday August 25. All events are supported by the Limerick City and County Council 1916 Commemorative Programme and are free of charge.

WLR102fm: West Limerick 102fm, our local community radio station, will be holding its first ever Saturday antiques sale/car boot sale/indoor market with antiques, collectables, bric a brac, local produce and artisan foods on Saturday 24 September 2016, in the Community Centre, Newcastle West. All traders are welcome and there will be indoor and outdoor pitches available, with a special introductory offer of €5 per car and €8 per van. Admission to the general public is free. Doors open at 8.00 a.m. for traders, and 9.00 a.m for general admission. Convert your unwanted goods to cash. Looking forward to meeting you all on Saturday 24 September.
