Last Thursday saw a group of volunteers out doing a great cleanup around the Church grounds, the Community Centre, and the grotto. Thanks to all those who turned up. It was encouraging to see so many new faces. Flowers were also planted and the new look wheelbarrow took up its location in front of the school. Thanks to Ger Ward for doing the painting with surplus paint.
Take a look at the beautiful Wildflowers by the lake in Curraghchase and at both sides of the entrance from the N69. These form part of our Bee Patches project and we are especially grateful to Matt Kelleher, the forest ranger, for his help and co-operation. We are hoping that householders will copy his example and leave some unmown patches for the pollinators. We have some lovely posters, designed by the children in the school, to place at the patches. Contact Lyn Nolan 0876119048 if you would like one for your garden.
We send our condolences to Patricia Manning, our treasurer, and her family on the untimely passing of her sister, Gretta Liston, last week. May she rest in peace.
