We are into the last week of the BirdWatch Garden Survey and we'll be sending our results into BirdWatch Ireland shortly. The survey runs from the beginning of December to the end of February so it's a big commitment from those involved. Our Bird of the Week for the final week is the Woodpigeon which was in 13th place last year, being recorded in 72.3% of gardens surveyed. A well known bird but not the farmer's friend as they have enormous appetites.
We are hoping to develop Bee Patches this year.......leave a section of unmown grass for the bees in your garden to provide food for them. It doesn't have to be a big area. The grass can be cut in the Autumn so it doesn't go wild. We will provide laminated signs for the patches. If you are interested contact Lyn Nolan (0876119048) or any member of our committee.
A reminder that the TLC clean up is coming up on Good Friday. Kilcornan Tidy Towns have registered with TLC as has Kilcornan National School. We look forward to your support on the day. More details later.
