Fáilte Ireland Community Briefing Workshop in relation to the proposed Shannon Estuary Drive (Wild Atlantic Way Loop) -  March 9.
Fáilte Ireland would like to invite you to a Community Briefing Workshop in relation to the proposed Shannon Estuary Drive
The Wild Atlantic Way Operational Programme 2015-2019 recommended that a series of drives adjacent to the Wild Atlantic Way be piloted. This was to provide visitors with additional experiences in areas adjacent to the WAW, increase dwell time and encourage spatial spread of visitors across the wider western regions.  Two such drives off the Wild Atlantic Way were identified, namely The Shannon Estuary Drive and The Burren Drive
The project objectives are;
Public consultation and engagement with local communities on the drive to identify stories local to each area and garnish local knowledge.
Programme of remedial work requirements identified, designed and carried out in collaboration with local authorities
Programme of interpretative interventions identified, designed and installed at key points / viewing areas along the routes.
Consumer-friendly map of each route designed and printed
The Workshop details are outlined below and we would welcome your input on the night:
Date:Thursday  March 9, 2017, in Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum, Foynes from 7 – 9 p.m.
Light refreshments served from 6.30 p.m. The Workshop Facilitator is Tina O’Dwyer on behalf of Fáilte Ireland and is open to all trade and community members in areas that are located on the drive. Please confirm your attendance to Siobhan King Siobhan.king@failteireland.ie .
