LOTTO: The result of the Kilcornan Lotto for Saturday October 8. The Jackpot was not won. Lucky dips drawn were, Kathleen O'Connell, Mary Finan, Liam Meade and Rachel Cregan. Next week's jackpot will be €5750.00

 
CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word for Saturday October 15 is Catherine Browne and for Sunday October 16  is John O'Gorman.  Ministers of the Eucharist are Anne McMahon and Kathleen O'Carroll for Saturday. Helen Meade and Nora Murphy for Sunday.


YOUTH AWARDS: It’s that time of year again when we are looking for nominations for our third annual Limerick Garda Divisional Youth Awards 2016.
Any child or group of children, aged between 14 years and 19 years that have contributed to their community in a positive manner can be nominated for an award.

The form can be printed and returned to Mayorstone Garda station, Limerick should you or any  person within your community  wish to nominate a young person or persons.
The overall  winners will be honoured at a Gala Dinner at the Woodlands House Hotel on Thursday  November 24,  2016.


KILCORNAN COMMUNITY GAMES: It is that time of the year again, with the children back at school; we need to plan for next year’s activities to assist in their development. There is a wide and varied list to choose from in the programme of events.
Something for every child with everything from Art to Athletics, Draughts to Skittles, Talent, Quiz, Debating you name we have it on the programme. With the school having the largest number of pupils for many years we are looking forward to lots of parental involvement next year. With this in mind we are holding a planning/ information meeting on Monday October 24 to discuss the future of Community Games in the area. The meeting will take place at 8pm in the Community Centre. Your attendance is important so please take the time out to attend.

KILCORNAN GOING STRICTLY:    It is all kicking off this week with the launch, of our strictly come dancing. The Launch will be held in the Coach Inn on this Friday October 14 at 8.30pm where everyone will be welcome.  All the dancers are  getting ready for their big production on Saturday November 26, in the South Court Hotel.  The Committee are contacting local people and companies  with a view to placing an advert or two in our special programme that will be available for the occasion. We are also seeking a main sponsor for the night. KENRY HISTORY SOCIETY:  On Wednesday, October 19 at 8.30 pm at the Community Centre Pallaskenry, Billy O’Keeffe will present the findings from his walk of Coastal Kenry.  This is the first time such a study has been attempted and you can enjoy the fruits of his adventure in his illustrated presentation.  The history of the Shannon shore will be uncovered in Billy’s photos and paintings, along with geology, folklore and flora.  All are invited and the speaker looks forward to adding to his knowledge of his adopted area by the knowledge of local residents. SALESIAN COLLEGE: Salesian Secondary College, Pallaskenry are holding a major fundraising raffle.  We are promoting the sale of raffle tickets costing €10 for an Irish Angus Heifer.  Students from the school and from the parish will be selling tickets.  There are now 704 students enrolled in our school and the money raised will be used to provide a new computer center for the benefit of our students. The total cost of this project is approximately €40,000. We would greatly appreciate your support with the project.


BINGO: Gaelscoil Ó Doghair Autumn Bingo will be held on Wednesday  October at 8.30 p.m. in the Gaelscoil Hall, Station Road, Newcastle West.  Total prize fund of €1420 and spot prizes galore.  Single Book €13, Double Book €15, Half Book €5.  Hope to see you all there.
