LOTTO: The result of the Kilcornan Lotto for Saturday April 16. The Jackpot was not won. Lucky dips drawn were. Bobby Foley, Lynn Nolan, Twix, and Anna Larkin. Next week the Jackpot will be €4450.00.


CHURCH NEWS: Ministers of the Word for Saturday April 23 is Kathleen Hayes and for Sunday April 24 is Pat Nash. Ministers of the Eucharist are Kathleen Hayes and Mairead Lynch for Saturday. Josephine Horan and Kathleen Holland for Sunday.
Our thanks to Ita O'Shaughnessy and Margaret Ivess who both represented the Parish of Kilcornan during all the Synod 2016 meetings and conferences over the past year.

 

SYMPATHY: Sympathy is extended to the family of Richard Kelleher, Ballymartin, and formerly of Marion Park, Patrickswell. He is deeply regretted by his wife Ann, daughter Caroline, son Robert, son-in-law Eoin, sister Marie, Ann, Peggy, Kathleen, Eileen, brothers Eamonn, Patrick and Noel. Richard was laid to rest in Kilcornan Cemetery after requiem Mass in St John the Baptist Church. May he rest in peace. 


COMMUNITY COUNCIL: Kilcornan Community Council hope to complete a number of projects in the Community Centre this year, for example repair to roof, update and improve stage area and general upkeep..  In our endeavour to do this we will be holding a number of fundraising events through the year and would be delighted with your support.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Church Gate Collection last weekend. €420 was collected. If you missed the collection and would like to make a contribution please contact any member of the Community Council.
We would like to sincerely thank the eighteen volunteers who helped with our bag packing fundraiser in Tesco last weekend, where we raised €875.  


As part of the County Council Spring Clean that runs through the month of April, we are organising a clean up day at the Community Centre, on Saturday April 23 from 10am. This will entail  power hosing, cleaning out the hall, painting and other work that will be identified on the day so we are appealing to anyone who would be available to volunteer a few hours on the day to give a helping hand.


We are also holding a cake sale on Sunday April 24 in the Community Centre from 12 noon, tea/coffee and light refreshments will be available which will be an opportunity for a chat and catch up while your are there. Anyone who would like to contribute a cake etc. please contact us on 087 7781225.

 

SALESIAN COLLEGE: Our next fundraising evening is our Annual Golf Classic which takes place in the Adare Manor Golf Club on Friday,  May 6.  The proceeds will be used to help pay for additional classroom renovations for our increasing school numbers.  Anyone interested in playing please contact Karen at the school on 061 393105 for a Tee Time.

 

Fleadh by the Feale 2016: The launch of the 22nd Fleadh by the Feale took place in Matt McCoy’s last Friday and now begins the countdown to what is an excellent weekend in Abbeyfeale.. A robust schedule of events kicking off Thursday April 28 and continuing until Monday May 2 has something for everyone. Headlining the Celebrity Concert is the fabulous Mary Black and her band. She is currently on tour with her ‘Down the Crooked Road Tour’ but is joining us Sunday May 1 at 8pm in Coláiste Ide & Iosef in Abbeyfeale for what will be a great nights entertainment. LOURDES FUND: Cashel and Emly Lourdes Fundraising Socail Tea Dance in the Millenium Centre Caherconlish, Co. Limerick on Saturday 23rd April 2016 Dancing 9.30 to 12.30 music by Dermot Lyons Admission  €8.00. There will be a raffle on the night and a door prize.
