LOTTO: The result of the Kilcornan Lotto for Saturday March 5. The Jackpot was not won. Lucky dips drawn were, Kevin Travers, Sinead O'Shaughnessy, Pat McMorrow and Paul McElligott. Next week the Jackpot will be €4200.00.


CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word For Saturday March 12 is Edel O'Connell and for Sunday March 13 is Liam Walsh.

Ministers of the Eucharist are Anne McMahon and Mairead Lynch for Saturday. Ita O'Shaughnessy and Noreen Walsh for Sunday.

 

NATIONAL SCHOOL: The raising of the National Flag to commemorate the 1916 Easter Rising will be celebrated on Tue 15th March at Kilcornan National School.

 

COMMUNITY GAMES: Draughts training continues Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in the Community Centre. The U14 finals take place on Sunday  March 13. Best of luck to the team and mentors.
Rounders training continues Thursday evenings from 3pm to 4pm for 4th, 5th and 6th classes. We would welcome more parental participation. If you are interested please contact Antoinette Corrigan 087 2430949. The u10 talent competition will take place on  April 3. The time and venue will be confirmed later.

 

COMMUNITY COUNCIL: Defibrillator/First Aid Training has been confirmed for this  coming Saturday March 12 in the  Community Centre from 9.30am to 1.30pm all participants will receive a Certificate of Participation. Cost €12 per person.  There are still places available for anyone who is interested.


G.A.A. CLUB: Recently reformed, our G.A.A. Club is recruiting members for the Limerick G.A.A. development Draw. Anyone interested in joining should contact John at 086 3818231 or any member of the committee. Members of the draw will be full members of our Club and, therefore, will be eligible to enter draws for inter county championship games. The cost is €100 for the year or €10 a month to covers the ten draws.

TABLE QUIZ: We will have a fundraising table quiz in the Coach Inn on Thursday March 24 at 9pm. Get your team of four together at €20/team. Your support will be appreciated.

 

MAIGUE FLOWER CLUB: The Maigue Club will hold the annual gala on Sunday March 10 (Palm Sunday) in the Woodlands House Hotel, Adare at 3pm. The Floral Artiste will be Teresa O'Brien and admission is €10. We look forward to seeing you there.

 

BIBLE READING: You are warmly invited to talks about life's purpose through the teachings of the Bible every Friday evening 8pm to 9pm in the Community Centre, Kilcornan.

Rathkeale & District Historical Society: Rathkeale and District Historical Society is partnering with Limerick City and Co. Library Service to deliver a special 1916/2016 Commemoration lecture in the Community Arts Centre in Rathkeale on this Friday March 11th.  This event is part of the Irish State’s programme of events to mark the centenary of the Easter Rising.  Begining at 8.30pm all are welcome. The Arts Centre is above the library in the  Rathkeale offices of Limerick.


Limerick Historical Society: The next lecture organised by Limerick Historical Society will be held on Monday March 14. This lecture was due to be held last November, but had to be deferred.

The title of the lecture is ‘The sinking of the RMS Lusitania' and will be given by Eoin McGarry.

Eoin McGarry is an Irish commercial diving expert who has dived on the wreck of the RMS Lusitania off the Old Head of Kinsale in Cork, more than anyone else since his first dive over 15 years ago. The lecture will commence at 8 p.m. in Room 203, Mary Immaculate College. Go to main reception and you will receive directions to Room 301. Admission is free and everybody is welcome.
