LOTTO: The result of the Kilcornan Lotto for Saturday February 6. The Jackpot was not won. Lucky dips drawn were, Darragh Walsh, Gerry McDonagh, Teresa O'Brien and Larry O'Connell.. Next week the Jackpot will be €4000.00.


CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word For Saturday February 13 is Edel O'Connell and for Sunday February 14 is Kathleen Kelly.
Ministers of the Eucharist are Sheila O'Hara and Ann O'Brien for Saturday. Nora Murphy and Eilish Griffin for Sunday.

 

SYNOD 2016: The Final preparations for the Synod in April now involves generating ideas for action which will then be made into formal proposals which in turn, will be voted on at the actual Synod itself. To assist us delegates in creating these proposals for action, we are currently issuing a call for any ideas for action on the following themes for the Diocesan Synod. The Themes are as follows: Community and Sense of Belonging, Faith Formation, Pastoral Care of the Family, New Models of Leadership, Liturgy and Life, Young People.

This is an opportunity to have your say and put forward any ideas you might have around what the diocese should be doing in response to the themes outlined. Any such ideas can be placed in the suggestion box, which is at the back of the church, shared with your local delegates or forwarded to Karen in the Diocesan Office, Social Service Centre, Henry Street, Limerick. Your Local delegates are Margaret Ivess and Ita O'Shaughnessy. 


NATIONAL SCHOOL:  Kilcornan National School will have its open day for new entrants for 2016/17 on Thursday March 3 at 2pm.


COMMUNITY ALERT: The Text Alert signs have now been erected and we would like to thank all our Sponsors for their contributions and the people who put up the signs. The Community Alert Annual General Meeting will be held on March 15 at 8pm in the Community Centre. All are welcome.
If anyone would like to register they can still do so by contacting any member of the Community Council or Community Alert Group for an application form or by attending the meeting.


KILCORNAN COMMUNITY COUNCIL: Defibrillator Training:  We are arranging for all groups to be re-trained in using the Community Defibrillator at the Community Centre on Sunday March 12.  It is essential  that each group in the Community should select  one representative from their group to attend the training course. All groups will be notified shortly. If anyone has any queries please contact Gillian Downes 087 7781225.


The Community Council are currently exploring the idea of setting up a Tidy Towns Committee to improve and maintain the look of the of the N69 and the area in general. Any suggestions or anyone interested in gettinginvolved email

SALESIAN COLLEGE: This year for the first time we are changing venue for our production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’. We will be staging it in the Lime Tree Theatre on the Mary Immaculate College Campus. There will be two shows this year on Thursday and Friday February 25 and 26. We will also be staging matinees on both days at 11.00am.  These shows are sold out with our local primary schools attending.
We are looking forward to a fantastic show with over 100 students participating. Our Director is Sadhbh McCoy from the Lime Tree Theatre and Choreography by Amada Kearns, Music Director is Shane Farrell.
Tickets are now available from the Lime Tree Box Office on 061 774774 or online www.limetreetheatre.ie.   Ticket prices are Adult €15, Student, €12, family of 4 €48. It ia advisable to book your tickets to avoid disappointment.


MEDJUGORIE: Pilgrimage To Medjugorje on the thirty fifth Anniversary. Departing from Shannon, Wednesday September 7. The fare is €649 for bookings before February 17. Half board accomodation. Contact John O'Brien 086-8938984.

COMMUNITY RADIO: West Limerick 102fm Community Radio, Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at the Desmond Complex, Newcastle West  on Tuesday February 23 at 7.30pm. The  Meeting commencing at 8pm. All are welcome


NATIONAL LEARNING NETWORK: If you’ve experienced a personal setback, long-term illness, have a disability or are an early school leaver one of National Learning Network’s full-time free Courses will give you the confidence to open up new opportunities for further training or employment. 

We currently have vacancies in our Information Technology with Office Skills Course which is suitable for beginners or those wishing to advance their current skills.  QQI Awards available on completion of programme and transport allowances available.
